D'autant plus qu'ils me le rendent bien...
Merci à mon amie Deah pour ces manifestations de tendresses à mon égard.
Je suis touché.
Comment ne le saurais-je pas, tant The loveGods est adorable.

Fleche D'or gig Paris Wed Oct 25th 2006
Wed 25th October 2006.
FLECHE D'OR PARIS....
The gig was amazing. Amazing because Melody and Mozzie and Mrs Mozzie were there, amongst a packed out French crowd. For a half hour set.... well it did blow my fugaziless mind. Still felt emotional seeing the anglo-posse......try to keep my distance on the inside, just a little, but onstage, I can be there. Present and fearless.
But only onstage and only when an audience is right there and with you... otherwise stage can be like bad acid.
We palyed a record company showcase once, many years ago, many men in suits and scowls. I wished I could die while I was playing, everything became soo tripped out and slow and embarrassing that I wondered when it was going to end??? Arrgh factor xxx.
The gig was good for me, my belief in the music and to remind me how much I LOVE playing with an audience, in all respects. It is funny but if I dont play for a week or so (which has happened frequently this year) I forget that we are any good. I am like the fifty first dates chick. I wake every morning with non tangible recollection of past gigs yet I see all the comments and footage, know it is us and wonder how any of it ever happened and if it the person who sings and writes the songs is me.
Strange dichotomy.
Need to be reminded as I forget all the time.
Nice to be reminded that people still come to stand still when we play. Makes me realise that all the heart and passion, time and love we spend investing in the strange universe that I cannot touch, hold, or prove to anyone else, (like my father) actually exists.
Most bands would say that people standing still at a gig was a tragedy but to me, to listen and to be heard, these are precious gifts we share. Minutes that become eons in the eternal memory. The indestructable gift of two people, one on a stage and one in an audience, sharing the same sentiment. Being able to touch a persons heart and being vulnerable enough to receive this tentative pleasure... this is priceless.
I think that is one manifestation of love?

Was a real joy to play 'The song I just wrote' for all the English folk (well all three of you, always need to give you a little something new methinks). Was even more fun to be playing, well thumping the bass again, even if my poor little bass is falling apart.
Thanks so much to Frenchie Matt (aka Matt disk-eyes on the forum) for being so kind as to make me DVD copies of last year's New Morning gig (for my mother) AND for posting footage of the FLECHE D'OR gig on the loveGods website forum.
